Booking information
If you are interested in hiring the hall, please read the information below, and then complete the form below with your enquiry. Hirers are required to agree to and maintain the conditions of hire and any additional Covid-19 protocols for hirers.
NB: The process of hiring the hall includes an on-site induction and prepayment. The ideal lead time for a booking enquiry is at least two weeks and the minimum is one week. Consideration will always be given to special circumstances.
Please note that our office is not open full-time, and it may take 24-48 hours to receive a response via email.
Venues
Coledale Community Hall offers two spaces for hire: the Hall and the Meeting Room. Both can be booked individually or together, depending on the size and character of your event.
The Hall
This space is ideal for presentations, performances, trivia nights and fundraisers. Spacious and well lit, seated or standing events can be comfortably accommodated.
The hire of this space includes the auditorium, stage, dressing rooms, sound desk, piano, kitchen and outdoor courtyard.
The Meeting Room
Sunlit and east facing, the Meeting Room is ideal for smaller events such as club meetings or activity classes. An adjoining kitchenette provides facilities for light refreshments.
The Hall & the Meeting Room Exclusive Hire
For larger events such as performances and concerts, the Hall and the Meeting Room can be hired together, with exclusive event access through the upper level. Both spaces have direct access to the fully equipped main kitchen, providing for flexibility and ease of service.
Rates
There are different rates for different types of bookings:
Functions: social functions such as parties, weddings, plays, conferences, exhibitions, dances etc. They are open to the public and/or guests.
General Use/Other: classes, workshops and meetings that do not include entertainment, including government departments, and private, commercial or not-for-profit organisations that aren’t holding a function.

SCWC Members: Any hire by a current paying member of the South Coast Writers Centre.
New fees as of July 2024: The South Coast Writers Centre has decided to adopt the fee increase of 3.8% (0.038) equating to the CPI for the quarter ending March 2024, rounded up to nearest $0.50. The new figures are listed below.
