Intern with us

SCWC is an official host of the interns from the University of Wollongong (UOW). Interns are able to gain credit points towards their university degree as well as receive training in practical skills during a three-month internship.

Interning is a way to develop the experience and skills that allow you to transition from studies into a profession in the arts industry. The South Coast Writers Centre’s internship program seeks to address this gap by immersing students in a functioning literary arts business.

The SCWC offers students studying with the Faculty of Law, Humanities and the Arts, the opportunity to develop skills and gain practical and relevant work experience relevant to their studies in writing, editing, publishing or journalism through a professional intern development program.

Sarah and Adara were extremely pleasant to deal with. They were both professional, friendly, and genuinely showed that they cared. I have come away from my internship with a whole new set of skills and knowledge that have helped me with future success. Unexpectedly you’ll find yourself looking forward to team meetings.

While interning at SCWC I gained a family of people who are excited about books and interested in my ideas. I value the network that I have established through my work at the Centre. I have made so many friends, who I hope to remain in contact with for many years to come.
