The Committee of Management of the South Coast Writers Centre is seeking expressions of interest from members of the Writers Centre to join the Committee. 

Now in its 25th year, with an active membership of nearly 500, the South Coast Writers Centre serves public of the Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Highlands of NSW.  

The Writers Centre aims to promote public participation in literature. It does this through presenting a program of activities which support, teach and mentor members of the public in the literary arts as well as celebrate writing and reading through festivals.  

The South Coast Writers Centre is a membership-based, incorporated charity whose operations are supported by Create NSW and Wollongong City Council.  

The Committee of Management is a volunteer body that oversees the direction, operations and budget of the organisation and has particular roles in membership, fund-raising, risk management and strategic direction for the organisation.  

The Committee meets regularly at family-friendly hours at least three times a year.  

If you would like to get involved and have the opportunity to support and influence the direction of this dynamic organisation, as well as deepen your understanding of community-based organisations please consider joining the Committee of Management.  

Expressions of interest from regionally-based members are particularly welcome.

The Committee is looking people who are:

  • passionate about literature (as writers or readers) who want to contribute to the future of this dynamic organisation.

  • have an interest in community-based organisations and their management

  • have an appreciation of the diversity of the population of the Illawarra and South Coast of NSW.

You must be a member of the South Coast Writers Centre to join the Committee.
