SCWC Publications

 The SCWC publishes a variety of works from local writers, from zines created by our young writers workshop to a yearly anthology featuring both emerging and established writers.

Below is a summary of each publication currently running, as well as some links to related programs if you wish to get involved.

SCWC Anthology

The latest SCWC anthology ‘Chroma’ has just been published. This year, the anthology includes winners and shortlisted works from the 2023 SCWC Poetry Award, in which poets responded to the theme ‘in colour’.

34-37 Degrees South

Now in its third year, the SCWC members’ poetry anthology, 34-37 Degrees South returns in 2024, this time on the theme of ‘Signs’.

Young Writers Zines

Since 2014, SCWC has been running workshops for young writers across the South Coast. Our young writers have had the opportunity to showcase their developing skills in a collaborative zine format. View their digital anthologies here.



Uncommon Words - Young Writers Collective

This anthology is a collection of short fiction and poetry by the South Coast Writers Centre’s Young Writers Collective (18-25 years). Available to purchase here.





Dreaming Inside - Ngana Barangarai

Dreaming Inside: Voices from Junee Correctional Centre Volume 12 showcases the poetry, songs, biographies, and other writing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inmates. It is an unfiltered glimpse who have spent time Dreaming Inside.

Sistas Green Sea Dreaming is an anthology of writing from First Nations inmates at Dillwynia Correctional Centre published by the Ngana Barangarai project. To purchase this collection or one of the Dreaming Inside anthologies from Junee Correctional Centre, visit our store.
