SCWC Publications
The SCWC publishes a variety of works from local writers, from zines created by our Young Writers Collective to yearly anthologies featuring both emerging and established South Coast writers.
Below is a summary of each publication currently running, as well as some links to related programs if you wish to get involved.
SCWC Anthology
The latest SCWC anthology of writing, Shape Shifters, launched in June 2026. It includes works from the 2025 SCWC and Wollongong Art Gallery Poetry Award, the Tideland: Art + Word competition with SECCA, the SCWC + River of Art Writing Prize, and the Illawarra Multicultural Services writing program.

34-37 Degrees South
34 to 37 Degrees South is an annual poetry anthology by the SCWC, begun in 2022. Submissions are now closed for the latest edition on the theme ‘PROSE-ish: Poetry in a Box’.

Young Writers Collective Anthology
Untestable Questions is the latest anthology from the SCWC Young Writers Collective, a program for writers aged 18-25, featuring poetry and prose works by by Nic Cathcart, Kit Fox, Holly Haisman, Ray Lee, Rhys Lorenc, Kirsty McInnes, Rebecca Monteleone, Jamilla Ravel and Katie Short. It was launched at the 2026 South Coast Readers & Writers Festival.

Young Writers Zines
Since 2014, SCWC has been running workshops for young writers across the South Coast. Our young writers have had the opportunity to showcase their developing skills in a collaborative zine format. View their digital anthologies here.
Dreaming Inside - Ngana Barangarai
Dreaming Inside: Voices from Junee Correctional Centre Volume 14 was published in 2026. The anthology showcases the poetry, songs, biographies, and other writing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inmates. It is an unfiltered glimpse of those who have spent time Dreaming Inside.
Sistas Green Sea Dreaming, Dreaming Big, and Scribbly Gums: Young People Dreaming Inside are also part of the Ngana Barangarai program. Read more about it here.
