SCWC Writers Residencies

In 2026, SCWC will be offering two writers residencies for our members:

a Group Residency at Jamberoo Abbey in March,
a 12-month Writers-in-Residence program at our Coledale office.

Applications are now open for both programs, closing Monday 22 December, 9am.

SCWC Group Writers Retreat 2026

This week-long retreat at Jamberoo Abbey will allow up to 13 emerging or established South Coast writers to focus on developing or completing literary works. While participants primarily spend their days working on their individual projects, this retreat is also designed to cultivate community and to offer peer support via daily group meetings.

SCWC Coledale Writers-in-Residence 2026

January – December 2026

Expressions of Interest are now open for the SCWC Coledale Writers-in-Residence 2026 program, a 12-month creative opportunity designed to support writers in developing their work within a quiet and inspiring environment. The South Coast Writers Centre office, with ocean-facing desk space and a walk away from Coledale’s ocean pool and cafes, offers a quiet and inspiring setting for writers to explore ideas and develop work.
