UOW Creative Writing Graduate Showcase
On Saturday the 14th of November, the South Coast Writers Centre was proud to host the CACW390 Student Showcase; the first ever event that celebrated the University of Wollongong’s next generation of writers!
Our very own Kara Davis and Marjorie Rigopoulos did a spectacular job organising this once-in-a-lifetime celebration. At last, they got the chance to shine alongside their classmates as a talented line-up of students – taught by the incredible Shady Cosgrove, Joshua Lobb and Christine Howe – and read for us their poetry, screenplays and excerpts of their major works that they had been working on throughout their spring semester.
Sprinkle in some musical talent from Jack Deluce (Sydney-based guitarist), Andrew Cremen (a fellow student) and ‘Pirate Bike’ (follow on Instagram @piratebike), and you have the recipe for a night that we hope will come back around next year!
Not only was this an occasion that put the spotlight on the CACW390 class of 2020, but, bless their hearts, they also raised a total of $614 to help the SCWC! We thank Kara and Marjorie effusively for putting together a glorious night for young writers, and we wish all graduating students success in their future careers.
