PLAYWRIGHTS PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Reporting to the Director, the Playwrights Program Coordinator will manage and run the 2026 program for playwrights that is offered via a partnership between Merrigong Theatre Company and SCWC. Among the role’s responsibilities will be coordination of the program’s events, communication with participants, and facilitation of playwrighting workshops.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide key coordination and support for the Playwrights Program 2026:

  • Manage the participation needs of the Playwrights Program 2026 through coordinating and responding to communications for participants,

  • Manage all event ticketing, venue bookings, and post-program surveys,

  • Attend theatre programs and talks with the group as scheduled,

  • Plan and facilitate playwrighting workshops to assist participants to develop their work.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Tertiary qualifications in the arts and/or job-related experience,

  • Experience in facilitating playwrighting workshops,

  • Excellent interpersonal, administrative, and communication skills

  • Experience in working with and coordinating groups.

PAY & CONDITIONS

  • This is a nine months casual contract with SCWC

  • Co-ordination hours are paid at $40 per hours (four hours per month)

  • Workshop facilitation hours are paid at $80 per hour (workshop hours to be determined)

  • Includes complimentary theatre tickets
