SeaQuills Anthology Launch
SCWC Chair Peter Frankis, launched Shifting Sands, the new anthology by the SeaQuills Writing Group, on Saturday 18 October at Links Seaside by Warrigal.
The afternoon drew a large and supportive audience, celebrating creativity, connection, and the value of continuing to do the things you love beyond retirement. SCWC members Gwen Wilson, Amelia Fielden, Christine Sykes, Marg McKay, and Joni Braham shared their readings and reflections alongside the other authors in the anthology.
SeaQuills is a writing group made up of independent-living residents and non-residents at Links Seaside. The group aims to promote and support all forms of writing—fiction, non-fiction, memoir, and poetry—while encouraging members to explore new genres, challenge themselves, and spark imagination. SeaQuills isn’t just about writing for its members, but about purpose, friendship, and living life fully, reflecting what ageing well truly means: not slowing down, but embracing the things that bring joy and meaning.
Shifting Sands features 74 short stories and poems written by SeaQuills members. The anthology is available via Amazon Australia or directly from the anthologist at mm.edit@icloud.com.
Readers can also meet the authors and purchase signed copies at the Makers Market on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 November 2025, from 9am to 3pm, at the University of Wollongong’s Innovation Campus in North Wollongong.
