HISTORICAL RESEARCH FOR WRITING COURSE

A$60.00

HISTORICAL RESEARCH FOR WRITING

This course will cover the historical research involved in writing historical fiction, memoir and non-fiction, including the importance of detail, and the use of language from the time the story is set and the problems that can be inherent in this.

It will include lessons on accessing many of the online resources available to help ‘get the history right’ and give practice in accessing and using these resources. When the writer is familiar with these resources, the use of appropriate language, words and phrases will be explored. Participants will take part in a series of exercises to exemplify the points being made.

NOTE:

  • This is an on-demand course that is completed without the support of a tutor.

  • You have 30 days from when you start the course to complete it. You can download your course notes.

  • You will receive an email once you have been added to this course on the Wet.Ink platform. This may take up to three business days.

  • A tutor-supported version of this course may be available from time-to-time, check our Upcoming Events page.
