This service is for students who have completed either the First Time Fiction or Tools to Begin course.
The ‘close editing’ component of both the First Time Fiction and the Tools to Begin courses was a mixture of close editing and some direction that put you in a better position to shape your own writing. If you valued this when you did either of the courses and want further support of this kind, close editing of a 1000-1500 word extract is available. It will come to you as a returned email document with the opportunity for a one hour face-to-face discussion. The document will be returned to you within three weeks of your submission by email and the time for the face-to-face opportunity will be negotiated then. You will need to send your excerpt for editing as a Word doc to email: rosemary.montgomery@iinet.net.au Preface your subject line with Close Editing. Make sure you give the context of the excerpt in the story and indicate your target audience in order to get most value from the results.
